1999年7月9日,是南部黄山队值得纪念的日子,他们实现了重返甲A的夙愿。全队上下欢欣鼓舞,尤其是小将李栋梁更是兴奋不已。出了赛场,他就挂长途电话给远在北国的爸爸、妈妈,向他们报告喜讯。他高兴得怎么也不能入睡,直到天将拂晓才带着满心欢喜进入梦乡。第二天上午10点多,记者想找他谈谈,一进门,只见李栋梁光着膀子,正与队友肖卫国、单卫国躺在床上聊天,三个人仍是一脸的兴奋与激动。记者问他们冲进甲A有何感受,李栋梁回答似乎幼稚得可笑:“打甲A多好啊,打甲A上电视的机会多。”真是十足的孩子气。
