甘肃省文物考古研究所于1995年7月至11月在敦煌 东郊省级文物保护单位佛爷庙湾——新店台汉唐墓群进行 了考古发掘,出土了一批唐代模印花砖,其中有四块人物模 印砖现在博物馆展出,吸引了不少游客留足欣赏。这种模印 砖是以雕制出图案的制砖坯模填人泥坯脱制成型,再入窑 烧制而成,故一砖即一完整的图案。现将这四块人物模印砖 作详细介绍。 展出四块人物模印砖可分为两种类型:骑士巡行砖和 胡商牵驼砖。其中两块骑士巡行砖据其行进方向分两种类 型,两块胡商牵驼砖根据人物姿势也分两类。
