爱米莉·狄金森(1830—1886)十九世纪美国女诗人。十九世纪最富传奇性、杰出的天才,又是最孤独羞涩、深居简出的女诗人。在她所创造的诗歌中,常可发现不为人所理解的多层意义与智慧。继青少年时代在阿默斯特学院和一个神学院学习之后,从二十几岁开始弃绝社交,闭门不出。她一生留下诗作一千八百余首以及大量的私人信件。诗歌在她生前只发表过十多首,其余的都在她死后才出版并为世人所知。作品的广泛传播奠定了狄金森在美国诗坛
Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) 19th Century American Woman Poet. The nineteenth century the most legendary, outstanding genius, but also the most lonely and shy, a simple woman poet. Among the poems she creates, one can often find unreadable layers of meaning and wisdom. Following teenagehood studying at Amherst College and a seminary, social rejection started in the twenties and closed the door. She has left more than 1,800 poems and lots of personal letters in her life. Only a dozen of poems were published before her death, and the rest were published after the death of her and known to the world. The wide dissemination of works laid Dickinson in the American poetry circle
