In 2009 the US magazine National Geographic ran a special issue on China;in it appeared a 24-page article by the well-known Chinese-American author Amy Tan about Dimen Village of the Dong people in Liping County of Guizhou Province.Titled“A Village at the Edge of Time,”the article portrayed a panorama of this unspoiled Dong village and catapulted it to world attention.
