The formation of Deng Xiaoping’s cultural thoughts is not only the succession of the Chinese culture, but also the innovation of the times keeping pace with the times. Deng Xiaoping’s idea of cultural self-consciousness embodies in: profoundly understanding the strategic significance of cultural security to the survival and development of the country; accurately grasping the basic laws governing the development of socialist culture; and scientifically constructing the framework for socialist cultural development. Correctly understanding and grasping these ideas has an important enlightenment and guiding significance for promoting the great development and prosperity of socialist culture.
