Development direction MIM-72 small tree (CHAPARRAL) ground-to-air, infrared-seeking missiles; Ford Aerospace and communications company production; site: the United States, California, Newport Beach. Organizers: US Department of Defense commissioned the US Army; US Army Missile Command management; Redstone Arsenal. Applications: Low-altitude, short-range air defense systems, fixed installation position (M54 system), traction or vehicle installation (M48 system). The on-board system is mounted on the M730 crawler car with four launch rails per car. Status quo: Small bay tree missiles will continue to be produced to 1987
