姚檀栋甘肃通渭人,中国科学院院士,中国科学院青藏高原研究所所长。1978年在兰州大学地质地理系自然地理学专业本科毕业,1982年在该校获自然地理学硕士学位,1986年在中国科学院地理研究所获自然地理学博士学位,曾任中国科学院兰州冰川冻土所所长和中国科学院寒区旱区环境与工程研究所所长。首届“青藏高原青年科技奖”和“冰川冻土基础理论奖”获得者,我国冰芯研究的主要开拓者之一,带领研究团队在冰芯与全球变化、冰川变化与寒区环境研究方面取得具有国际水平的成果。
Yao Tan Dong Tong Wei, Gansu, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Tibetan Plateau director. He graduated from Lanzhou University in 1978 with a degree in Physical Geography from Lanzhou University. In 1982, he received a master’s degree in Natural Geography from the University. In 1986, he received a Ph.D degree in Natural Geography from the Institute of Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Director and Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The first “Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Youth Science and Technology Award” and “Glacier Permafrost Foundation Theory Award” winner, one of the pioneers of ice core research in China, led the research team in ice core and global change, glacier change and cold areas Achieve world-class results in environmental research.
