本文回顾了专业英语的产生,总结了其定义、特征、教学的理论依据、与双语教学的关系、教学目标、国内外最新的研究进展。剖析了目前国内高校专业英语教学存在的问题,包括教学方法不得当、授课教师自身英语能力问题、学习兴趣和重视程度不够、对ESP教学定位不清、学生英语基础差距较大、大学英语后续教学体系不够完善、师资力量严重不足等。并尝试提出了调整开设大学ESP教学的时间、改进课T程设置、进行教材整合、完善教学内容、改进教学方法、教学手段、调整教师角色和考核方式等改进措施。
This article reviews the emergence of professional English, summarizes its definition, characteristics, theoretical basis for teaching, the relationship with bilingual teaching, teaching objectives, the latest research progress at home and abroad. This paper analyzes the existing problems of professional English teaching in colleges and universities in our country, including the improper teaching methods, the teachers ’own English ability problems, the lack of interest and emphasis on ESP teaching, the unclear positioning of ESP teaching, the large gap between students’ English and English, System is not perfect, a serious shortage of teachers and so on. At the same time, attempts are put forward to improve measures such as adjusting the time of setting up college ESP teaching, improving the setting of course and teaching procedure, integrating teaching materials, improving the teaching contents, improving teaching methods, teaching methods, adjusting teachers’ roles and examining methods.
