宋平,山东省莒县人,1917年生,1937年加入中国共产党。全国解放后,历任国家计委委员、劳动工资计划局局长兼劳动部副部长,国家计委副主任,西北局计委主任,三线建设委员会副主任,兰州军区国防工办副主任。1972年后,历任甘肃省委第一书记、省革委会主任、甘肃省军区第一政委等职务。1981年后,历任国家计委主任,党组书记,国务委员,中央组织部部长等职务。宋平同志是第十一、十二届和十三届中央委员、十三届中央政治局委员,1989年6月在中共十三届四中全会增选为中央政治局常委。
Song Ping, Pixian, Shandong Province, born in 1917, joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1937. After the liberation of the country, he served successively as a member of the State Planning Commission, director of the Labor and Wages Planning Bureau and deputy minister of labor department, deputy director of the State Development Planning Commission, director of the Planning Commission of the Northwest Bureau, deputy director of the Third Line Construction Committee, and vice director of the Lanzhou Military Region Defense Department. After 1972, served successively as the first Secretary of Gansu Provincial Party Committee, director of Provincial Revolutionary Committee, the first political commissar of Gansu Province Military Region and other positions. After 1981, served as director of the State Planning Commission, party secretary, member of the State Council, the central organization department minister and other positions. Comrade Song Ping was the eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth Central Committee members of the 13th Central Political Bureau. In June 1989, he was elected to the Politburo Standing Committee at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 13th CPC Central Committee.
