2007年底,汪洋书记主政广东后,倡导掀起解放思想学习讨论活动热潮。省委十届二次全会强调当前广东的发展已经站在了一个新的历史起点上,正处于经济社会发展全面转入科学发展轨道的关键时期,广东作为改革开放的先行区,科学发展观思想的提出地,要继续解放思想,坚持改革开放,争当实践科学发展观的排头兵。领风气之先而走在全国前列的广东民营经济,在新一轮思想解放推动下,必将迎来新一轮的大发展。
