我所通过籼粳交培育的粳稻新品系中系8409,近年来,在安徽、江苏、广西、四川、云南、湖南、湖北、河南、河北、山东、北京、辽宁等省、市、区试种,表现突出,反应强烈,小面积引种亩产600～700公斤,最高达880.8公斤。1989年,辽宁省灯塔县邵二台乡青堆子村李荣华种的3.6亩,亩产779.5公斤,在全省水稻高产竞赛中,一举夺魁。1990年,全国共试种近10万亩,仅辽宁省即达7万亩左右。该省盘山县推广5.2万亩,平均亩产575公斤。
