In Thailand, the Anopheles dirus complex consists of the closely related species A, B, C, D and An.nemophilus. In the past, these mosquitoes were identified by chromosomal karyotype or isoenzyme electrophoresis, but were difficult to apply in the wild. The use of DNA probes to identify the approximate species has a high specificity, but isotopes are harmful to humans and can pollute the environment. Using horseradish peroxidase (HRP) -labeled DNA probes, the chemiluminescence detection system was used to identify the species of Anopheles dirus, which has the advantages of high sensitivity, high reliability, fastness and suitable for field operation. The specific probes used to identify Anopheles dirus A, B, C and D were PMu-A40.1 # 5, PMu-B5,
