语言是人们交流思想的工具,也是社会斗争和发展的工具。为了适应我国的政治、经济、文化事业发展的需要,必须促进汉语的统一,使汉语能更好地为社会主义服务。国务院于1956年2月发布了推广普通话的指示。根据这个指示,我省各地初步的进行了一些推广普通话的工作,引起了人们对于学习普通话的兴趣和重视。现在,为了进一步有计划的开展推广普通话的工作,本会特作如下指示:
Language is a tool for people to exchange ideas and a tool for social struggle and development. In order to meet the needs of the political, economic and cultural development in our country, it is imperative to promote the unification of Chinese and make Chinese better serve socialism. The State Council issued instructions on the promotion of Putonghua in February 1956. According to this directive, some efforts have been made to promote Putonghua in various parts of the country, arousing people’s interest and attention in learning Putonghua. Now, in order to further carry out the planned promotion of Putonghua, this Council will make the following special instructions:
