广告设计专业教育在内蒙古自治区的起步比较晚。内蒙古自治区的高职院校中广告设计专业教学过程中存在实践教学的硬件设施十分缺乏、师资力量比较薄弱、实践教学的内容难以跟市场接轨、实践教学模式教学方法比较陈旧等问题。实践教学要进行改革。建立以工作过程为导向的实践教学模式;完善实践教学内容体系,突出学生职业能力的培养;加强双师型教师队伍建设;加强实践教学设施建设。建设有特色、有实力的高职院校广告设计专业。
