The root cause of geological disasters in lateritic areas is the lateriteification. Based on the latest research results of laterite formation, which is very important in the formation of lateritic clay, this paper makes a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the causes of the geological disasters such as soil and water loss in increasingly red soil distribution area and cracking of building foundation.
