Objective To study the clinical complication and outcome of patients with cirrhosis and hyponatremia. Methods A total of 89 patients with cirrhosis with hyponatremia who were treated in our hospital from August 2010 to March 2012 were selected and divided into 35 cases in group A according to mild, moderate and severe hyponatremia, 30 patients in group B and 24 patients in group C were observed and analyzed. The patients were treated with combination therapy, diuretic therapy and sodium chloride supplementation, and the clinical effect was observed. Results Through the comparisons of the three groups of patients, the higher the chance of complication was, the lower the incidence of complications was and the level of hyponatremia was negatively correlated. After sodium supplementation, the patients’ Increased urine output, renal function improved. Conclusions The incidence of complications in cirrhotic patients with hyponatremia is positively correlated with the degree of hyponatremia. However, sodium supplementation can improve renal function and increase urine output.
