How should we learn from Xian Xinghai today when China is becoming the focal point of the worldwide attention? Here is my view:Ⅰ.Developing China’s National Music SchoolOne of the major reasons of Xinghai’s success is that he inherited national music traditions and learned from foreign countries the advanced methods which he combined with Chinese reality.It is of utmost significance to benefit from all the finest music achievements in the world and build up the school of Chinese national music,so as to promote our splendid national culture in the fields of composition,theoretical research,performance, teaching as well as international exchanges,and develop the great spirit of the Chinese nation.Ⅱ.Advocating on the Nature of MusicThe nature of music is to give people the enjoyment of beauty,or education on beauty.Music is beautiful,sublime and divine.We must encourage,empower,entertain,enlighten and make people enjoy the beauty by presenting to them the beautiful music.Let our country and our people,especially our children and youth grow up in the atmosphere of beautiful music.Ⅲ.Stepping on the Rhythm of the Times and Voicing the Trilogy of the AgeTo build up a better-off society in all-round ways,to realize the modernization of our country and to make true the great revival of the Chinese nation,these are the trilogy of our great age.All of our music composition,music teaching and music performance as well as all music activities should involve this subject matter - we should step on the rhythm of the times and voice the trilogy of our great age.
