5月21日至23日,来自北京、广州、汕头等地的潮汕籍经济学家数10人聚首汕头,出席由汕头大学特区台港澳经济研究所主办的“发挥侨乡优势、办好经济特区”座谈会。汕头市委常委余万宁和有关部门负责同志到会座谈。 与会代表在盛赞家乡改革开放取得瞩目成就的同时,就如何“发挥侨乡优势,办好经济特区”展开了热烈的讨论,达成了诸多共识。 从客观现实看,改革开放15年,是汕头发生巨大变化后的15年,但是汕头的强势还没有充分发挥,如何把侨乡的海外优势转化为本土优势,应是做好“侨”字新文章的主题;
From May 21 to May 23, a group of 10 Chaoshan economists from Beijing, Guangzhou and Shantou gathered in Shantou to attend the seminar on “Making full use of the advantages of hometown of overseas Chinese and running a special economic zone ”forum. Yu Wanning, member of Shantou Municipal Committee, and responsible comrades of relevant departments will attend the symposium. While praising the remarkable achievements made by the hometown in its reform and opening up, the participating delegates held heated discussions on “giving full play to the advantages of overseas Chinese and setting up special economic zones, and reached many consensuses.” From an objective reality, the 15 years of reform and opening up have taken place after 15 years of great change in Shantou. However, the strength of Shantou has not yet been brought into full play. How to transform the overseas advantages of overseas Chinese into those of local advantages should be a new word for “overseas Chinese” The subject of the article
