长篇小说《皖南事变》这样的文学巨著,引起人们的争议是不奇怪的。争论的焦点在于这部作品是否符合历史真实。有些同志认为这部小说与“基本历史事实”“有出入”。这主要指小说对新四军主要领导人项英的描写不真实,对他一生功过的评价不公允。例如不久前,周祖羲同志的文章就直截了当地说,“历史事实是项英奉中央之命北移”,把项英写成因自己有“南进计划”和个人考虑而抵制中央方针,是小说作者的“杜撰”,“违背基本历史事实” 。
