The following table of drugs commonly used in experimental animals. The response of a laboratory animal to a particular narcotic drug, like that of livestock, depends on different factors such as species, breed, sex, age, weight, body fluid level, nutritional status, degree of fatality, and health status. When selecting anesthetics for use in laboratory animals, consideration should be given to the purpose of the experiment and the possible adverse effects of these drugs. Should consider the necessary conditions, such as duration of anesthesia, recovery time, analgesic and muscle relaxation, the effectiveness of equipment and personnel and the drug on the study organs, system pharmacokinetics. It may be difficult or impossible at all to identify the anesthetic in the course of the experiment without affecting the physiological parameters to be monitored, but anesthetics known to have a significant effect on the organ system under study should be avoided
