The Goldmann flattening tonometer estimates the intraocular pressure by measuring the force required to flatten a certain area of the cornea (Figure 1). The goldmann flattening tonometer consists of a pressure-measuring head and a force-generating spring lever system. The pressure head contacts the corneal end with a diameter of 7 mm and contains two oppositely arranged prisms (Figure 2), which refraction of a circle into two half-rings. This compact tonometer design, the result is accurate, in theory and practicality has many advantages. When the pressure head contacts the cornea, in addition to the elastic force generated by oppression of the cornea, there are two opposite directions of force, that is, the corneal pressure against flattening and measurement
