[序]三年前,李敖先生在清华大学演讲时,曾有学生对他“张扬外露”的性格表示不解,认为这似乎有违“内敛含蓄”的中国传统处世之道,李敖的回答有些出人意料:“我是跟孔子学的,这就是中国人的传统。”在绝大部分中国人的脑海中,“温良恭俭让”与儒学创始人孔子之间,几乎是可以画等号的。殊不知,此五字实出自子贡之口,是在回答子禽问题时用来形容孔子外交手腕的,说的并非孔子的性格。那圣人是如何描述自己的做人原则呢?子曰:“不得中行而与之,必也狂狷乎!狂者进取,狷者有所不为也。”
