甜玉米青穗的采收时间十分严格。采收期适宜,甜玉米含糖量高、皮薄、产量高、适口性好,否则,含糖量下降,品质变劣。甜玉米采收后不宜长时问存放,应立即上市或加工。在常温下,采收至加工之间不可超过6小时.如果时间过长,同过晚采收一样,含糖量大大降低,种皮变厚,含水量下降,严重影响加工和食用品质。
