In this paper, the thermochemical method was used to study the interaction between certain Group IIIA oxygenates and various organic bases. A Lewis acid solid model was established to investigate the mechanism of complex phase acid-base reaction. Boric acid is a stable solid acid at room temperature. The acidity in aqueous solution originates from the coordination of OH ~ - ion in the central boron atom rather than the boronic acid molecule dissociating itself. This shows the typical Lewis acidity. Solid boric acid may also be a solid model for Lewis acids. B
