Objective To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) -positive R-3 and CD34-positive vessels in cervical cancer and to analyze their relationship with the clinicopathological features of cervical cancer. Methods 65 cases of squamous cell carcinoma of cervix and 65 cases of squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix were selected. The density of VEGFR-3 and CD34 positive vessels in 65 cases of cervical squamous cell carcinoma were detected by double-label and single-label immunohistochemistry. Another 10 cases of other cervical lesions obtained due to benign disease resection of the uterus for the control group. Results The positive vascular density of VEGFR-3 in the marginal tissue of the lesion was significantly higher than that in the cancerous tissue (P <0.05), and also significantly higher than that in the control group (P <0.05). The CD34 positive vessels in the marginal and cancerous tissues The difference of density was not statistically significant (P> 0.05), which was higher than that of the control group (P <0.05). The positive vascular density of VEGFR-3 and CD34 in marginal tissues of stage IIa was (17.35 ± 2.67) and (16.97 ± 3.13), respectively, which was significantly higher than that of stage Ⅰb (12.32 ± 1.24) and (12.46 ± 3.27) (P <0.05). The positive vascular density of VEGFR-3 in the marginal tissue of lymph node metastasis was (18.68 ± 0.89), which was significantly higher than that in non-lymph node metastasis (12.36 ± 3.48) (P <0.05) P <0.05). There was no significant difference in the positive expression of CD34 between the two groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion The expression of VEGFR-3 and CD34 in cervical cancer is related to the clinical stage of cervical cancer. The high expression of VEGFR-3 in the marginal tissue of cancer is closely related to the lymph node metastasis.
