高峰云雾茶始于清雍正年间,与敬亭绿雪、丫山横纹合称宣城三大历史名茶。县志载:“城南百里华阳山,其南为高峰,峰冠云表。居下有塌泉庵,并产名茶。”此茶1955年恢复生产,1979年列入省十种名茶之林,1982年在长沙全国名茶评选中获“条紧匀细、锋苗秀丽、白毫显露、色绿油润,香气清高、滋味鲜爽”的好评,去年荣获部级优质商品荣誉证。高峰云雾茶产在宣城县溪口乡吕辉村塌泉组。这里属黄山余脉,主峰—峰尖海拔1095公尺。境内山峰罗列,峡谷幽深,松杉挺拔,云积雾聚。年平均气温15.4℃,年雨量1400毫米,高显雾重,多漫射光,土质肥沃。
