1992年4月上旬的一天,位于浙江省萧山市闻堰镇定山村压湖山采石场的半山腰,一只装有“大泉五十”叠铸铜母范、“大泉五十”铜钱和金属锤子等文物的陶器,随着一声炮响被炸飞。萧山市文管会闻讯即派人前往,征集到“大泉五十”叠铸铜母范5方,“大泉五十”铜钱70余枚。铜母范方形抹角,按体积大小、钱文笔划粗细,可分为两种形式。其一,纵8、横7.85、厚1.1,边宽0.6厘米。印四母钱,面背各二。直径2.65厘米,额轮,阳文正书,篆体直读“大泉五十”。字体规整,线条优美,笔划较粗壮,“泉”字直笔中断。
