Southern Landscape: Geography of Race, Geography, and Literature is the latest masterpiece by Professor at the University of Pennsylvania and Cody Davis, a specialist in Southern American literature and Afro-American literature. In this nearly 500-page imperial book, Davis redraws a map of American southern literature to restore and reconstruct the indispensable role of African-American writers in American Southern literature. This wonderful pen draws the map of literature not only to expand the connotation and denotation of Southern American literature, but also greatly enriches the study field and research paradigm of African American literature. At the same time, this monograph based on geospatial and thoroughly penetrating and nuanced text analysis also amends the common problem of weak text analysis in contemporary space criticism, becoming a rare paradigmatic research paradigm in space criticism.
