1934 Goldblatt reported ligation of the dog’s renal artery, blood pressure continued to rise. In 1940, Kohlstaedt and Page observed for the first time that renin was released from the kidneys. Since then, the literature on the renin - angiotensin research data has accumulated thousands. It is currently believed that renin and angiotensin II, which is the result of its conversion, play an important role in regulating blood pressure and controlling body fluid.
