亲属间的称谓语是不同民族文化的重要体现之一。但是在汉英翻译中,往往因为它们反映的是不同的文化氛围和意蕴,所以在翻译过程中的确有爱莫能译的困境。本文从亲属九族之间的相互称谓语的翻译逐一分析文化翻译中的局限性,以期证实在跨文化语际交往中,语言与文化有着很大差异,跨文化翻译很多时候只是一种美丽的神话。
Appellation between relatives is one of the important manifestation of different national cultures. However, in the translation of Chinese and English, often because they reflect the different cultural atmosphere and meaning, so in the process of translation there is indeed a predicament can not be translated. This article analyzes the limitations of cultural translation from the translation of the appellations between the nine ethnic groups in order to confirm that there are great differences between languages and cultures in intercultural communication. Cross-cultural translation is only a kind of beautiful myth .
