Through the comparative reading of “Reed Hundang” and “Candle”, we probe into the psychological differences between Chinese and Western cultures in World War II texts: First, in the description of the textual environment in WWII, Chinese poetic painting and the cruel terror of the West; In the exploration of the theme of World War II text, China is more concerned with the spirit and value of human being in the just war. The West is more concerned with the deep introspection on the goodness and evil of humanity during the war. Through these comparisons, I look forward to China’s World War II text can stand the ultimate concern for the highly thinking war, shouting with humanity - we do not need war, we love peace!
