ATSR sensors mounted on the European Remote Sensing Satellite (ERS) are currently the only effective tools that provide near real-time thermal infrared measurements at two viewing angles. The ATSR data provide us with an opportunity to develop the potential of directional observational information in the thermal infrared region relative to the new generation of multi-angle satellite sensors in preparation. The analysis of a scene ATSR image shows that although the atmospheric conditions are very sensitive to the accuracy, it is still possible to invert the bright temperature (surface anisotropy) in different directions within an acceptable range, in order to From the different directions of the bright temperature value of the vegetation and soil temperature inversion at the same time, we must properly describe the atmospheric conditions and pixel content, otherwise, this inversion will have a great deal of uncertainty.
