On December 25, 1984, the founding meeting of Beijing Society for Social Education was held in the Municipal Political Consultative Conference Hall. There was a warm atmosphere in the hall, with four inscriptions and two Chinese paintings on the window. All of them are congratulations made by the members of the Research Council. Bai Jiefu, the city government consultant, Deng Jixing, vice chairman of the CPPCC Municipal Committee, Ren Ningfen, Chairman Guan Shixiong and other comrades attended the inaugural meeting and spoke at the meeting. Social education, including schools run by various democratic parties, people’s organizations and people from all walks of life, was well developed in the early days of liberation but was once repressed for some time for well-known reasons
