In the coming days of the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of our nation, we can not help but deeply miss the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries like Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou and recall the great achievements they made in creating the great socialist republic. As a theater worker, one of the most memorable is their concern for drama. At the beginning of the founding of New China, Chairman Mao formulated the policy of “letting a hundred flowers bloom together and bring forth new ideas” for opera work. In order to carry out this correct principle, Premier Zhou personally conducted in-depth investigations and studies and conducted specific guidance. Premier Zhou’s insistence on a series of correct teaching about Kunqu Opera’s “fifteen principles” and its related links still has great guiding significance not only in the past but also today. It is a powerful ideological weapon for our work in the drama today, to eliminate the drug leftist and poison and correctly implement the policy of “letting a hundred flowers bloom together and make innovation”.
