现代科学技术的迅猛发展,对电子计算机提出了愈来愈高的要求,而电子器件的不断更新又为计算机的发展创造了极其有利的条件。一直在计算机存贮系统中占主导地位的磁芯存贮器,七十年代也受到半导体存贮器的激烈竞争。由于半导体存贮器具有体积小、速度高、功耗小,成本低等优点,从而使磁芯存贮器目前处于这样的局面,即:一方面电子计算机中的磁芯存贮器已部分地被半导体存贮器所代替,一方面磁芯存贮器为了使其已建立好的工业基础继续发挥作用,也在挣扎中得到发展。
