OBJECTIVE: To investigate the relationship between mental and psychological factors and changes of catecholamines in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), and to explore the influence of their correlations on the progression of the disease. Methods: Forty patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) were included in this study. The psychosocial status of each subject was assessed using SCL90 according to the 0-4 scale of 5 grades. The whole blood of the subjects was drawn at 9:00 on the next day of admission and the fresh postoperative tumor tissue was excised. The serum was separated and the tumor tissues were homogenized. The contents of serum in the serum were analyzed by HPLC-MS-MS Catecholamine levels in tumor tissue. SPSS19.0 software package for statistical analysis of the data. Results: Compared with the national normotensive self-rating scale scores, the score of oral squamous cell carcinoma patients in addition to interpersonal relationships were higher than the national norm; scores of serum epinephrine (E), serum norepinephrine (NE), tumor group E and tumor tissue NE content were (70.27 ± 34.50) pg / mL, (316.73 ± 109.22) pg / mL, (6.66 ± 3.85) pg / mg and (12.67 ± 5.27) pg / mg respectively. With the increase of NE and E levels in blood, the clinical stage and pathological grade of squamous cell carcinoma also increased, and there was a correlation between the two. Conclusion: There are obvious mental and psychological factors in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma, accompanied by a significant increase in the level of catecholamines in the body, and closely related to the clinical stage of the tumor.
