In recent years, a variety of immunohistochemical methods have also been used for the detection of cell proliferative activity in digestive organ cancers. Among them, DNA polymerase alpha is an enzyme involved in DNA replication and appears in the nucleus of proliferating cells, and was made by Masaki (1982).
