In consultation with the geophysicists of China and the United States, it is proposed that a joint academic conference of Chinese and American geophysicists be held in Beijing in September 1981. The main topics for the oil geophysical prospecting, including the history of geophysical exploration of oil fields, methods and assumptions to overcome various problems of geophysical exploration, geophysical theories and philosophical points of view, the use of geophysical data to study the structure of petroliferous basins, lithological exploration, Special treatment, and the development and application of new methods and new technologies.
