According to inventor David Dardick, after 25 years of research and experimentation, a new drilling principle of pre-fractured rock in front of the drill bit has finally been put to practical use. This launch system from Tround International can launch a 0.245 by 1.5 inch ceramic pellet at the microsecond rate at the bottom of the borehole through a launcher in front of the drill bit to allow rock crack propagation. A 8-inch diameter and 28-foot-long launcher is centered on the drill and emits ceramic projectiles through three firing barrels.
