近年来,优质高档的小型礼品西瓜需求量正逐年增加,尤其在大城市,小型礼品西瓜更受青睐,售价比普通西瓜约提高50％。我场于2002年春季从福建省种子公司引进香港兆春企业有限公司一代交配型西瓜“红贵妃“和台湾农友种苗有限公司的一代交配小型西瓜“特小凤”进行试种,获得成功,“红贵妃”亩产2400—3000公斤,“特小凤”亩产2000—2700公斤,效益较可观,得到县经贸局、科委、农业局的重视,计划2003年在全县推广。
