美国洛斯阿拉莫斯国立实验所的地球物理学家研制成一种可熔化岩石的新型热钻头。这种钻头的长度为7.5厘米,将它装在4米长的钻杆头套上,能以摄氏1200度的高温在玄武岩中熔化出深度达27米左右的一个孔。
Geophysicists at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the United States have developed a new hot drill bit that melts rocks. The drill, which measures 7.5 cm in length, is mounted on a 4-meter long drill-head cap and can melt a hole to a depth of about 27 meters in basalt at a temperature of 1200 degrees Celsius.
