民间传统是主要不靠典籍传承而在生活中活着的一个民族的生活样式。民间传统最重要的社会功能在于,它是社会微观秩序的张力的主要提供者。社会的健康发展既涉及社会宏观秩序也涉及社会微观秩序,如果民间传统有所缺损,会影响到社会微观秩序的维护。民间传统为社会微观秩序所提供的张力包括:塑造行为规则、提供民间信仰、影响人的审美观、赋予象征意义、帮助人的社会化与再社会化、提高社会的组织化程度等。
Folk traditions are the living style of a nation that does not rely mainly on the inheritance of classics but lives in their life. The most important social function of folk tradition is that it is the main provider of tension in the micro-order of society. The healthy development of society involves both the macro social order and the micro social order. If there is a defect in folk tradition, it will affect the maintenance of social micro order. Tension provided by the folk tradition to the micro-order of society includes shaping the rules of conduct, providing folk beliefs, influencing people’s aesthetic standards, giving symbolic meaning, helping people to socialize and socialize, and improving the social organization.
