Erosion is often seen as a negative, uncontrollable process, and everyone wants the building free from erosion. However, it has been empirically found that in some cases naturally degraded material compositions may actually be of benefit to the building. The São Paulo public bath project aims to make a temporary building have a 10-year design life cycle. The project includes a structural system that can last for a decade, while others will continue to be eroded year after year to reach through during the summer to form a semi-open-plan building. These structures can be restored after the summer to welcome the winter, and then heavy again next summer
