平面磨床要加工非磁性薄平板,夹紧非常困难,特别是精度要求高、平板面积大时尤是。通常是以平行垫铁夹持,但这种方式夹紧力不大,实际加工并不可靠。现用黄铜板加工一对小斜度的楔(铝或青铜也可)。这两根楔条安放在工件的两边、方向相反(见图),然后用4块薄垫铁靠住。将电磁吸盘通电,把其中一根楔条轻轻打入,就可夹紧工件。这种方式可以产生很大的夹紧力,夹紧力由楔入量、平行垫铁的大小决定。
