兴化县泽李乡的子南村,包括三个自然村。住有二百多户人家。村里为解决子女的入学问题,去年秋季,办了一所小学。这所小学在今春,改由东村和中村三个农业生产合作社联合办理。子南村社办小学是一所单班学校,有学生六○名。校舍设备比较简单,一共五间草房,三间做教室,两间做办公室和宿舍。课桌是今年春天新添置起来的,凳子是儿童自带的。另外有三块黑板。从教学上看,大体上同一般学校相仿。能按照“小学教学计划”排课;教师有备课笔记、教学进度表;学生有簿本作业。本学期实施了小学生守则并增设了手工劳动科。在早上或课外活动时,儿童们还认真愉快地做着少年广播操和各种体育游戏等活动。这一所小学同所有的小学一样,培育着祖国的花朵——未来的建设者和保卫者。
