肥胖是遗传因素和环境因素共同作用的结果。儿童肥胖的易感性主要由遗传因素决定，具有较高的遗传率和遗传特征。瘦蛋白-促黑素细胞激素调控途径中断、单基因突变以及染色体重排都可能引起肥胖。对儿童肥胖的遗传学研究为治疗靶向药物的研制提供依据。
