一九九六年八月十日,艺术家古元先生去世,至今离开我们二十年了。二十年,意味着如果那时出生一个婴儿,今天已经长大成人,已然会以自己独立的眼光观看世界、表达自己的态度了。同样是二十年,一九一九年出生的古元于一九三九年在延安创作了木刻组画《走向自由》,最后一幅的题目是《自由的曙光闪耀在苦难者的脸上》,这不仅是语言上的描述,更是艺术家刻在作品里的无限期许,其中的意味自然需要更深沉的理解。
On August 10, 1996, Mr. Gu Yuan, the artist, passed away and has left us for twenty years. Twenty years means that if a baby was born at that time, having grown up today already sees the world with his own independent vision and expresses his attitude. Also in 20 years, the ancient Yuan, born in 1919, created a group painting of woodcut “Toward Freedom” in Yan’an in 1939. The last one entitled “The dawn of liberty shines on the face of the suffering” , Which is not only a linguistic description, but also an infinite number of artist-inscribed works, in which the meaning naturally requires a deeper understanding.
