相传唐朝元和年间,顺州南河县有个老汉叫何能嗣,平时体弱多病,年近六旬尚无子女,服用一种草药数月后,体力强健,须发变黑,10年内连生数子。他和儿子延秀俩人经常服用,寿150岁。延秀的儿子首乌也坚持服用,活了130多岁。同村人纷纷效仿,上山挖掘食用,均健康长寿。大家不知这味药叫什么,因何首乌服用它,就叫它“何首乌”,并流传于世。
According to legend, during the Tang and Yuan Dynasties, there was an old man in Nanhe County of Shunzhou who called Hensi. He was usually weak and sick. He was nearly 60 years old and had no children. After taking an herbal medicine for several months, he was physically fit and had to turn black. He and his son Yanxiu two people often take, life 150 years old. Yan Xiu’s son Shouwu also insisted on taking, living more than 130 years old. The same villagers have to follow suit, eat up the mountain, are healthy and longevity. We do not know what this medicine is called, because of Polygonum take it, called it “Polygonum multiflorum”, and spread to the world.
