山西浮山地处太岳山南部,临汾盆地东缘。临汾、襄汾在其西,翼城在其南,安泽在其东,古县在其北(图一)。地势东高西低,县城海拔800米,东部西凹东山最高为1511.8米,西部前河最低为577.8米。境内沟壑纵横,丘陵起伏,山地、平原、河沟参错其间。汾河支流响水河、涝河南北横列,东河东注沁河。属暖温大陆性
