Background: Recent studies show free radicals play an important role in pathogenesis of brain infarction. Over formation of free radicals damage neurons primarily and secondly. A series of free radical reaction accounts from the most part during generation and necrosis due to brain ischemia and reperfusion. Changes in free radicals and immunological state of red cells will affect prognosis in patients with cerebral infarction. rn
